Rev. Preston Jordan

Senior Pastor

Meet the incredible Rev. Preston Leroy Jordan, Jr., the devoted pastor of the historic Trinity Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. He has been serving this congregation with unwavering dedication since 1986, making him the longest-serving pastor in Trinity's illustrious history.

Pastor Jordan is an accomplished academic, having earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from King's College and a Master's of Divinity Degree from Virginia University-School of Theology.

He previously taught Humanities at Hampton University and served the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice as a parole officer for twenty years. Pastor Jordan is an active member of the local community and has affiliations with several organizations, including the Peninsula Pastor's Council, the NAACP, and the Baptist General Convention of Virginia.

Under his leadership, Trinity has partnered with the Office of Human Affairs to provide after-school mentoring for at-risk children in the East-End of Newport News, and the church sponsors an annual “Give God Away Day” where food, clothing, and vital community information is given away free to area residents. With Trinity being in a historic district of the city, Pastor Jordan has collaborated with local government to advocate for the safety and support of Newport News citizens.

Pastor Jordan enjoys spending time with his wife, Jo, his 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
